medatixx-HealthHub: extending the practice software with your own applications

Hardly any practice today works with its practice software alone. Online appointment booking, video consultations, document storage, billing support — much of this comes from specialised providers. The catch: these applications often sit alongside the practice software rather than within it. This means duplicate data entry, separate logins, and data that someone has to transfer by hand.

This is exactly where the medatixx-HealthHub comes in. Applications from other manufacturers can be connected to the practice software via a standardised interface. The practice chooses what it needs, rather than adopting a fixed package.

Checked before it is connected

Before being included, every application undergoes an accreditation process carried out by the manufacturer. Data exchange itself runs via the FHIR standard — the same format also used in the telematics infrastructure. For the practice, this means above all one thing: you do not have to assess the security of a third-party application yourself.

What this means for your practice

The interface is worthwhile above all if you already work with additional applications that have so far run separately from the practice software. Where this is not the case, it initially offers little benefit — the more relevant question then is which processes can be digitised at all.
